COLONEL ALDI BIN HAJI HASSAN
ACTING JOINT FORCE COMMANDER, ROYAL BRUNEI ARMED FORCES
Colonel Aldi bin Haji Hassan did his Officer Cadet Training in SAFTI Military Institute (SAFTI MI) back in October 1997 and was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in October 1998. After commissioning, Colonel Aldi's first assignment was as the Platoon Commander of 'A' Company in First Battalion Royal Brunei Land Forces (A Coy 1Bn RBLF).
Throughout his service, Colonel Aldi also held various appointments, namely; Officer Commanding of Special Task Platoon (STP) 1Bn RBLF, Staff Officer Grade 3 (SO3) Training at RBLF Headquarters, Second in Command of Courses Company Training Centre RBAF, Officer Commanding of Officer Cadet School RBAF, Officer Commanding of 'C' Coy 1Bn RBLF, Officer Commanding of School of Infantry Training Institute RBAF, Acting Chief of Instructor Training Institute RBAF, Commanding Officer of 1Bn RBLF, Assistant Chief of Staff Admin (ACOS G1) RBLF, Deputy Commandant of Training Institute RBAF, Chief of Staff Royal Brunei Land Forces, Chief of Staff Joint Force Headquarters RBAF. In September 2024, Colonel Aldi was appointed as Deputy Joint Force Commander and later assumed the appointment as Acting Joint Force Commander starting 11 January 2025.
In 2004 until 2005, Colonel Aldi was one of the selected members of the Brunei Contingent in the International Monitoring Team (IMT) in Mindanao, Republic of Philippines. After he came back from the mission, Colonel Aldi was conferred with Pingat Jasa Kebaktian - PJK (Meritorious Service Medal). On 30th October 2015, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 2019 he was awarded with state honourary medal of The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei, Fourth Class (PSB) and The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Third Class (SMB) in 2023 from his Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. He was promoted to rank of Colonel in July 2023.Colonel Aldi attended various military courses such as, Platoon Commander Course in Pusat Latihan Tentera Darat (PULADA) Malaysia in 2000, Light Role Reconnaissance Commander at School of Infantry Warminster United Kingdom in 2001, Jungle Warfare Tracking Instructor Course at Training Team Brunei (TTB) Seria in 2002, Company Tactics Course (SUSDANKI) in Pusat Pendidikan Infantri (PUSNIKIF) Bandung Indonesia in 2009, Battalion Tactic Course in SAFTI MI Singapore in 2011, Command and Staff Course at Defence Academy RBAF in 2013 and Executive Development Programme at the Ministry of Defence, Brunei Darussalam in 2017. He then attended Program Pendidikan Regular Angkatan, Lembaga Ketahanan Nasional Republik Indonesia (PPRA LEMHANNAS RI) in January 2024.
Colonel Aldi is an all-rounded sportsman and a golf enthusiast. Colonel Aldi is married to Dayangku Noor Hafidzah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad and blessed with four boys and three daughters.
